Inside the pitfalls of reality, Freddi's a stone's throw away from giving up on his first true love: The Road. After years of discovery, vagabonding the planet, Freddi searches out the heart of wanderlust, beyond trite words and the exploits of media. Following the advice of a friend he met in India, he walked 1000 km of the Camino de Santiago in Spain. Over-exposed and commercialized, Freddi's search continued. Instead, that Way stoked the fire for a pilgrim's life with minimalistic values. The following summer with the euros he had in his pocket and 12 kg on his back, he pursued a Way of his own. Through the painstaking trials of 45 degree heat, unceasing traffic, language barriers, thievery, broken bones and loneliness, he walked 2000 km from Rome to Istanbul following ancient Roman and Hellenistic trails, passing isolated, enigmatic villages of the Balkan East. His pursuit to strengthen his connection to the road would come with blood, sweat and tears and many lasting truths and momentary bouts of intimacy.
