Archer and the Stolen Boy

Returned from the wars, Will Archer looks forward to settling back into ordinary life. But spymaster Sir William Hervey sets him to investigate the case of the son of a wealthy Jewish family who has gone missing and whose disappearance could put government finances at risk. As he delves deeper, Will unearths long-buried secrets and lies which come much closer to home than he ever imagined. Meanwhile, troubles at Drury Lane are turning his master, David Garrick’s, life upside down and it falls to Will to avert a crisis. Once again, the streets of 18th century London come vividly to life as Will’s quest leads him into the heart of the Jewish community and the playgrounds of society where mobs riot, deception is rife and murder lies hidden.
